Round hay bales have caught the eye of many artists and designers. Seeing them wrapped in plastic was, at first, dismaying. Then I saw them on snowy ground and they took on a bead-like appearance when grouped together in a long row. The snowy fields transition from a flat plane to a rocky creek bed and then to root-like forms.
