Dam Divide

The dam in Bridgewater, Virginia, divides a park from the river beyond. I am intrigued by the reflections and the edge of the dam which creates a distinct delineation. The striking division created a challenge for depicting this disconnect while unifying the two. Part of my solution was letting paint run and drip to find its way across the sharp divide. Any suggestion of tears and angst over the erupting social and political divisions is intentional.
