Shenandoah National Park has many hiking trails and countless vistas. A friend who frequents the challenging treks shared this photo on FaceBook. It was especially colorful with a deer in the distance. I asked for permission to use the picture as a reference for a painting and Don graciously agreed. After taking some liberties with the composition, this is the result. The bright colors are true to the original.
